Since it was raining we delayed leaving from Whitehorse until 10:30AM. The rest of the day was rainy off and on. Some road construction, but not too bad. Also some rough spots, but that is all to be expected on the Alaskan Hwy. The road around Destruction Bay (Kluane Lake) is now all paved, but a bit rough. It was a little sunny as we approached Haines so had some beautiful scenery.
We camped at Lake Creek Yukon government campground (MM DC1117.1 miles). The mosquitoes were not too too bad……….
Larry and Mikki walked across the circle (of brush) to visit with traveling companions. On the way back across he and a very large sort of blond grizzley surprised each other. Fortunately it turned and ran off. He couldn't (and still can't) believe how big the head was.
