Last Saturday Jean & Malcolm treated us to the dinner & show at Mountain Annie’s. It was great beyond words. The main entertained was George Staerkel. The name didn’t ring any bells with me, but The Tokens did. Remember “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”? He was the high voice. So talented. He doesn’t just play all the 30 some odd instruments on stage, but has mastered them. They turned “Flight of the Bumble Bee into a boogie…..and yodeling----oh my---so good. He played songs on each instrument that we all know. His wife, Barbara is also a very talented singer, keyboard & fiddle. She did a great train song medley starting with Orange Blossom Special. Also appearing was Bob Wells on the guitar who was also excellent.
Looking forward to seeing Asleep at the Wheel’s tribute to Bob Wills at the Spencer Theater.
